Installing the GWB

MS WindowsYou can install The Geochemist's Workbench® 2023 Professional, Standard, or Essentials under Windows 11 or 10. The vast majority of users should install the 64 bit, rather than the 32 bit version.

Many of our users run the GWB on a Mac. Please see our tips for Mac users.

You should have a current model Intel x86-compatible processor, at least 12 GB of memory, and 300 MB of available disk space. The GWB Professional apps are multithreaded and generally work best with 16–64 GB of memory and CPUs with eight or more computing cores.

When you purchase a software license or upgrade, you will receive a download link and activation code. Download the installer, double click on it, and follow the directions on your screen. To activate, start the GWB dashboard and paste in the activation code when prompted.

If you are upgrading, GWB 2023 installs on top of your existing installation. Do not uninstall the previous release.
